PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data recording apparatus in which a series of data can be recorded over a plurality of storage media without being missed, and further, these data can be easily handled. SOLUTION: The data recording apparatus starts the recording of data (a) on a memory A from a first time point when the start of data recording is commanded, and progresses data recording on two memories A, B in parallel from a second time point when the remaining capacity of the memory A becomes less than or equal with a fixed capacity value (x). The data recording apparatus then stops the recording of data (x) on the memory A at a third time point when the memory A becomes full in capacity. At a fourth time point when the stop of data recording on the memory B is commanded thereafter, the data recording apparatus determines whether or not the empty capacity of the memory B is greater than the amount of data (a) in the memory A and only when the empty capacity is greater, copies the data (a) recorded on the memory A to the memory B then manages a series of data a+x+b as one file.
