PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable communication terminal for preventing azimuth from being corrected in an environment for easily generating terrestrial magnetism detection errors by an external magnetic field, and to provide an error correction method in a terrestrial magnetism sensor. SOLUTION: If a prescribed abnormal state continues for a prescribed amount of time after the detection value of the terrestrial magnetism sensor 158 reaches a prescribed abnormal state when azimuth information is being displayed at a display section 155, the azimuth information is corrected. More specifically, when the prescribed abnormal state continues for a prescribed amount of time after one of the detection values of terrestrial magnetisms in three directions becomes a prescribed abnormal state, processing (offset error correction processing) for correction by detecting the offset error of the terrestrial magnetism sensor 158 is performed, and azimuth is recalculated based on the terrestrial magnetism detection value after the correction.
