PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide biological substance fixing particles capable of fixing a biological substance such as DAN probe to a base with high density to achieve a microarray assay having high sensitivity, and to provide the microarray using the particles. SOLUTION: This biological substance fixing particle for fixing the biological substance and further fixing the fixed biological substance to the base, has a thiol group and a functional group capable of introducing the biological substance, on a surface of a particulate base material. Further this particle has the particle 2 for fixing the biological substance, and the base 1 having a metallic layer 3 chemically bound with a thiol group on a surface. The particles 2 for fixing the biological substance are the microarray fixed to the metallic layer 3 of the base 1 by chemical binding of its thiol group and the metal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
