PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooking stove having excellent aesthetic appearance and easiness of cleaning while highly maintaining thermal efficiency and thermal output by direct heating. SOLUTION: This cooking stove comprises a flat plate-like top board 1, a top board opening part 2 formed in the top board 1, and a burner 3 installed below the top board opening part 2 apart from each other and burning a fuel gas and heating a heated material N by forming a flame below the top board opening part 2. Three or more projections 60 on which the heated material N is placed are formed around the top board opening part 2 of the top board 1 so that its peripheral edge part is swelled from the top board 1 in a tilted surface state, or heated material state detection means 71 and 72 detecting the state of the heated material N are installed on the three or more projections 60 on which the heated material N is placed. Or non-contact type heated material state detection means 90 detecting the state of the heated material N from the lower side of the top board 1 are installed through window parts 61 formed in the projections 60.
