PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous acrylic polymer dispersion which forms a coating film having good hardness at ordinary temperature, small thermal sensitivity, and flexibility even at a temperature lower than the glass transition temperature of the polymer, when it is used as a coating agent or an adhesive. SOLUTION: The aqueous acrylic polymer dispersion comprises an aqueous acrylic polymer dispersion which has a difference between the glass transition initiation temperature and the glass transition ending temperature in the range of 40-150°C. The method for producing an aqueous acrylic polymer dispersion which has a difference between the glass transition initiation temperature and the glass transition ending temperature in the range of 40-150°C comprises simultaneously charging polymerizable monomer components comprising (meth)acrylates into a reaction vessel in which an aqueous medium is present and subjecting the mixture to emulsion polymerization.
