PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for coil impregnation containing an unsaturated polyester resin as a main component and excellent in a thick coating property onto a core surface of a coil and a magnet wire. SOLUTION: The resin composition for coil impregnation consists essentially of (A) an unsaturated polyester resin, (B) an epoxy resin, (C) a reactive monomer, (D) a curing accelerator for epoxy resin and (E) an organic peroxide and contains the component B in an amount of 10-400 pts. mass and the component E in an amount of 0.1-3.0 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass component A and contains the component C in an amount of 40-200 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the component A and the component B and contains the component D in an amount of 0.1-10 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass component B and the resin composition is excellent in a thick coating property.
