PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a cosmetic excellent in ameliorating effect on dullness of the skin. SOLUTION: This cosmetic comprises (1) 0.01-0.5 mass% ginsenoside and (2) 0.0001-0.05 mass% hesperidin and/or its glycoside. Preferably, the cosmetic contains an aqueous alcohol extract of the root of Panax ginseng as the ginsenoside andα-glycosylhesperidin as the hesperidin and/or its glycoside, and furthermore, the cosmetic preferably contains 1-1,000μM astilbin and/or its salt, and an alcohol extract of the leaf of Engelhardtiachrisolepis as the astilbin. Moreover, the cosmetic further contains betulinic acid and/or its salt in an amount of 0.1-10μM, and preferably contains a water-containing alcohol extract of Betula japonica as the betulinic acid and/or its salt.
