PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain glass, which is capable of increasing the transparency of an electrode coating glass layer of a front surface substrate of a plasma display device. SOLUTION: The low melting point glass for coating electrodes contains Cu and has the content thereof ranging from 0.1 to 0.9% in per cent by mass in terms of CuO, and contains Sb ranging from 0.2 to 1.4% in per cent by mass in terms of CuO+Sb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>. The glass is substantially composed of 25 to 85% PbO, 10 to 60% B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 2 to 40% SiO<SB>2</SB>, 0 to 25% Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0 to 40% MgO, 0 to 40% CaO, 0 to 40% SrO, 0 to 40% BaO, 0 to 55% ZnO, 0.1 to 0.9% CuO, over 0 to≤1.3% Sb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, etc., and is 0 to 40% in MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO.
