PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dyeing apparatus enabling uniform dyeing in the radial direction through eliminating dyeing unevenness and the variation in radial color difference tending to occur in a batch-type dyeing apparatus. SOLUTION: The dyeing apparatus includes a dyeing liquid circulatory means(P) installed inside a vessel(10) and functioning to forcedly circulate a dyeing liquid from the uppermost surface to the lowermost surface, or vice versa, of items(SF) to be dyed arranged in tiers through a plurality of liquid-penetrable partition plates(26). In this apparatus, flow-rectifying means(21, 31 and 32) are arranged at required intervals from the liquid-penetrable partition plate(26) provided at least at the lowest tier in between this partition plate(26) and the dyeing liquid circulatory means(P), and the flow-rectifying means(21, 31 and 32) function to uniformize flow distribution on the liquid-penetrating surfaces of the partition plates(26).
