摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile robot, specifying the variable distance and variable direction to the human being on a real time basis, and moving to the specified distance toward the specified direction to an aimed person. SOLUTION: This mobile robot R sends an electric wave to the peripheral region of the mobile robot R, and irradiates light toward a search region preset in the periphery of a mobile robot R taking the mobile robot R as a reference. When a signal telling that the electric wave and light sent from the mobile robot R are both received is returned from a detection tag T, the distance from the mobile robot R to the detection object D is obtained from the intensity of an electric field of the received report signal, and the light emitting direction of light received by the detection object D is regarded as the existing direction of the detection object D, thereby detecting the detection object D and specifying the position of the detection object D, so that the robot moves to the specified position to talk with a person as the detection object possessing the detection tag T.
