RESIN FOR FORMING RECEIVING LAYER OF THERMAL TRANSFER IMAGE RECEIVING SHEET, AND THERMAL TRANSFER IMAGE RECEIVING SHEET USING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer image receiving sheet excellent in releasability from a thermal transfer sheet by which a high-durability and high-density recording image can be formed.

SOLUTION: A receiving layer, which is composed by including one or more kinds of thermoplastic resins, is formed to at least one face of a base material sheet in the thermal transfer image receiving sheet. A polyester resin is used as a resin for forming a receiving layer of the thermal transfer image receiving sheet. The polyester resin is characterized in that it is composed of ≥ 70 mol% of an isophthalic acid and ≤ 30 mol% of a terephthalic acid as an acid component, ≥ 30 mol% of a diol having an alicyclic structure as a diol component, and ≤ 30 mol% of ethylene glycol.
