<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is small-sized and whose installation space is minimized. <P>SOLUTION: In the apparatus, a casing 2, a sheet paper cassette 3, an image forming part 8 and a paper transportation means 26 are provided. The sheet paper cassette 3 is attached on a lower end part of the casing. The image forming part 8 is provided with two or more image forming units 9 installed above the paper supplying cassette 3 in the vertical direction. The paper transportation means 26 is provided with a transportation belt 29 brought into a pressurized contact with all image forming parts of the two or more image forming units 9 and sequentially transporting paper to each image forming part. Furthermore, each of the two or more image forming units 9 contains the photoreceptor drum 13 on the surface of which an electrostatic latent image is formed and a laser scan unit 15 which is installed facing the photoreceptor drum and forms an image on the photoreceptor drum by collecting the laser beams in the horizontal direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
