<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam welding method which can efficiently weld, with high quality, a member having high reflectivity in the oscillating wavelength of laser beams. <P>SOLUTION: First, a molten pool M is formed by irradiating an auxiliary laser pulse LP1 having relatively low peak output and energy density to an interface between two members 1 and 2 to be welded. Then, a main laser pulse LP2 having sufficiently higher peak output and energy density than the auxiliary laser pulse LP1 is irradiated following the auxiliary laser pulse LP1, when the molten pool M grows in the direction of diameter to have a diameter equal to the diameter D of the condensing spot of a laser beam L owing to the irradiation of the auxiliary laser pulse LP1. Lastly, a slow cooling laser pulse LP3 having peak output and energy density equal to or lower than the auxiliary laser pulse LP1 is irradiated following the main laser pulse LP2, when the molten pool M grows in the direction of depth to have a sufficient depth owing to the irradiation of the main laser pulse LP2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
