<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch panel input device which can optically detect an input operation even if the input operation is performed to a non-detection area where an input operation position is not detected on an operation mode, in a sleep mode by which an input operation detection means operates. <P>SOLUTION: In a sleep mode, the light emission of a light detection signal is controlled from a light emitting means (9) of at least one specified optical switch unit (U) of a plurality of optical switch units (U), and an input operation detection means is operated for detecting an input operation to a touch panel (3) from the increase of a light reception amount by a reception means (10) to be coupled. Since detection light reflected by an operation body reaches the reception means (10) of the specific optical unit (U) even if the input operation position is a non-detection area, the input operation to the touch panel (3) is detected from the increase of the reception amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
