PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejector which can directly measure a viscosity of ink at a liquid passage, and to provide a viscosity measurement method and a cleaning method of a liquid ejector. SOLUTION: There are set a liquid jetting head 30 for jetting a liquid; a liquid storage part 9, etc. which store the liquid; the liquid passage 20A, etc. for feeding the liquid from the liquid storage part 9A, etc. to the liquid jetting head 30; a liquid sucking means 11 for sucking the liquid of the liquid jetting head 30 and the liquid passage 20A, etc.; a bubble intake means 12A, etc. for taking bubbles into the liquid passage 20A, etc.; a moving speed measuring means 201A, etc. and 202A, etc. for measuring a moving speed whereby the bubbles move in the liquid passage 20A, etc.; and a viscosity decision means for deciding a viscosity of the liquid on the basis of speed viscosity information 47 which shows the relationship between the moving speed and the viscosity of the liquid.
