PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of the slave set of the cordless telephone. SOLUTION: The control unit of a main apparatus judges whether or not any operation is performed in a master set or a slave set (step S1), and if an operation is performed, it determines whether or not the operation is the off-hook of the slave set (step S2). If determined that the slave set is put off the hook, the control unit brings the speaker of the slave set in a call receiving state to control so that a dial tone is outputted (step S3), and finishes the processing. If determined that the slave set is not put off the hook in the step S2, the control unit determines whether or a flash key is pressed in the master set (step S4). If the flash key is pressed, the control unit then determines whether or not the slave set is in an external line communication (step S5). If determined that the slave set is in an external line communication; the control unit controls the slave unit so that the line during calling is interrupted, the line is re-captured, and a handset of the slave set is brought into a communication state to output the dial tone from the receiving device (step S6).
