PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus adapter for controlling electric apparatus which is usable for general purposes and widely utilizable as an apparatus controller. SOLUTION: The adapter comprises a signal input unit for receiving external signals, an identifying means setting unit for setting a means for individually identifying the electric apparatus according to the connected electric apparatus, a signal converter for converting the external signal inputted to the input unit to a control signal corresponding to the connected electric apparatus set by the predetermined identifying means of the identifying means setting unit, and a signal output unit for outputting the control signal converted by the signal converter to the connected electric apparatus. Changing the settings in the identifying means setting unit realizes controls and control communication information corresponding to a plurality of kinds of electric apparatus, and, on the occasion of connection to a control communication system, they can automatically be recognized according to the control communication information.
