PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated paper having excellent yellowing resistance to suppress the yellowing in long-term storage or in a high-temperature atmosphere, a coating composition for the coated paper, and a paper-coating resin composition included in the coating composition. SOLUTION: The resin composition for paper coating is composed by mixing a water-soluble resin (A) with 0.5-20 pts. wt. of a urea compound (B) based on 1 pt. wt. (solid basis) of the water-soluble resin (A). The coating composition is composed of the paper-coating resin composition, a pigment and a water-based binder. The coated paper is obtained by coating a paper with the coating composition. The water-soluble resin (A) has a structure unit derived from at least one kind of compound selected from a group of melamine, urea and polyamine and a structure unit derived from formaldehyde.
