A method of trueing a grinding wheel or the like by means of a diamond tool consists in rotating the wheel and engaging the surface thereof with the cutting point of the diamond in a direction opposed to that of rotation of the wheel while maintaining the shank of the tool inclined backwardly relative to said direction of rotation. The diamond tool shown comprises a diamond 5 secured in a cylindrical stud or the like 4 adjusted by means of a screw 6 in a recess 3 in a housing 2 attached to, or formed at the end of, a shank 1. The axis 8 of the diamond passing through the cutting point 7 thereof is inclined to the axis 9 of the shank, and in use these axes are at angles B, A respectively to a radius 12 passing through the point 7. |
