<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect the occurrence of optical line disconnection in an optical cross connection system for performing two-way transmission by using a single optical fiber. <P>SOLUTION: This optical cross connection system consists of an optical cross connection part 11, an optical coupler part 20 for multiplexing and demultiplexing optical main signals that are subjected to two-way transmission between the single optical fiber 15 and a port 12, a monitor light transmitting means 21 for transmitting an optical monitor signal M transmitted while multiplexed to the light main signals and having wavelength different from that of the optical main signals, and a disconnection determining means 22 for determining that optical line disconnection occurs at the time of detecting a returned optical monitor signal M' in an optical signal received through the optical coupler part 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
