SOLUTION: A V groove 84 is provided on an upper surface of a lower engagement projecting part 81 of an optical receptacle 12. When the optical receptacle 12 is brought close to an optical plug 11, from the direction of an arrow 50, the front end part of an exposed optical fiber 2 is fitted to the V groove and is guided by the V groove and is brought into contact with a light input/output surface of an optical element. At this time, the front end part of the exposed optical fiber 2 is crimped between a pressing part 75 and the V groove. The lower engagement projecting part 81, a clamping projection 82, and an upper engagement projecting part 83 of the optical receptacle 12 are engaged with a lower engagement recessed part 74, a clamping groove 72, and an upper engagement recessed part 73 of the optical plug 11, respectively, to firmly couple the optical plug 11 and the optical receptacle 12, only by bringing the optical receptacle 12 close to the optical plug 11 from the direction of the arrow 50, and thus an optical connector structure is obtained.
