PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulation displacement contact capable of securing elastic contact state with a counter contact even if size is minute and an electric connector using it. SOLUTION: The insulation displacement contact 12 is provided with two pairs of insulation displacement blades 35, 29 and a pair of elastic contact members 32 which are respectively installed at the outer side 39a of the pair of insulation displacement blades 39. The pair of insulation displacement blades 39 are opposed to each other jointed at the base side so as to form a slot 41 for receiving a covered cable 2 at the inner side part, and when the covered cable 2 is inserted into the slot 41, cut the covered part and contact the core wire part. The elastic contact member 32 has an elastic clipping part 44 extended toward the opposite side to the entrance 41a of the slot 41. This elastic clipping part 44 has a pair of contact parts 46 and is formed in a tapering shape becoming narrower as it goes toward the contact part 46. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
