PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting the brightness of a transmission illumination type display board at the time of illumination in a short period of time and at low cost and a transmission illumination type display board with adjusted brightness using the method. SOLUTION: In a coarse adjustment process, an ink 2b having a constant light transmission is printed on the front side or the rear side of a part corresponding to brightnesses A to E, which are objects to be adjusted, of the transmission type display board 1 with superimposed maximum times within a range in which the brightnesses A to E do not exceed a target brightness F. Then, according to a brightness difference between the target brightness F and the adjusted brightnesses A to E which is not eliminated in the coarse adjustment process, the ink 2b, with its amount to be printed per a unit area adjusted, is printed on the front side or the rear side of a part corresponding to the brightnesses A to E.
