PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article casting device having simple construction wile requiring a small installation space when casting empty cardboard boxes. SOLUTION: The device comprises an empty box storage case 4 arranged above a carrying conveyor 2 and having an empty box storage space portion 3 formed in the vertical direction and an opening portion at the lower end, a pair of right and left rotating shaft bodies 6 supported on right and left side wall portions at the lower end of the empty box storage case rotatably around an approximately horizontal axis, holding plates 8 mounted on the rotating shaft bodies, respectively, for holding an empty box K at its bottom face stored in the empty box storage space portion, pressing members 18 mounted on the rotating shaft bodies, respectively, for holding an empty box K2 at its side faces just over an empty box K1 stored in the empty box storage space and held by the holding plates, an air cylinder 14 for rotating one rotating shaft body to actuate the holding operation of the holding plates and the pressing operation of the pressing members, and a connection rod 16 for interlocking the rotating operation of one of the pair of right and left rotating shaft bodies with that of the other.
