PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition suitable for preparing a film superior in chemical resistance, heat resistance, hardness, transparency and resistance to flex-whitening. SOLUTION: This resin composition having the above properties is prepared by treating a methacrylic resin composition (C) with an imidizing agent. The methacrylic resin composition (C) is obtained by polymerizing a methacrylate-based polymer (A) comprising a methacrylate as a main ingredient in the presence of an acrylate-based crosslinked elastomer particle (B) obtained by copolymerizing a monomer mixture comprising an acrylate as a main ingredient with a polyfunctional monomer having≥2 non-conjugated double bonds per one mole. In a relationship between an average particle diameter d (Å) of the elastomer particle (B) and a copolymerization amount W (pts.wt.) of the polyfunctional monomer used in the elastomer particle (B), following equation is satisfied: 0.002d≤w≤0.005d.
