PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying method for a solid catalyst component for olefin polymerization which lessens the amount of an adhering solvent while suppressing the falling of activity, and to provide a manufacturing process for the solid catalyst component for olefin polymerization less in the amount of the adhering solvent and having high activity. SOLUTION: As for the solid catalyst component for olefin polymerization which contains titanium atom, magnesium atom and a halogen atom and has an adhering solvent, the drying method of it comprises conducting through-flow drying, i.e., heating under inert gas flow in a condition where the endpoint temperature of the falling-drying-rate period becomes 88°C or lower, and then drying under reduced pressure for 12 hours or more.
