The method involves applying bundled light on places to be treated for stimulating cells in that places, where the light is applied using an applicator (8) that comprises an application surface (11). The light is emitted by a light source and the light emissions from the light source are controlled by a controller (1). Pulse frequency of the light varies between 600 hertz and 100 kilohertz in a primary frequency-spectrum. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for executing a method for applying coherent, pulsed light for therapeutic purposes such as dermatology and hair therapies.
