The transporting security device for an internal combustion engine has blocking element (10) on the flywheel housing (3) close to the flywheel for the fixing of the crankshaft and flywheel (4). The blocking element is spring elastic in its construction and is clamped against the flywheel under spring elastic deformation by means of a clamping element (5) in the form of one or more threaded bolts. The blocking element is a yoke-form, bracket-form or tongue-form element fitting radially inwards over the flywheel.
