<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately identify the skin area included in an image and improve its appearance. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU 411 divides the image data GD into a plurality of image data areas (pixel data group), analyzes each image data area, and calculates the color value and its variance of each image data area.
