<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably and easily recognize managed object articles in a lump and seize article positions by utilizing RFID tags. <P>SOLUTION: A number of managed object articles X are loaded on a truck 1 in two-stage, four-line and five-column arrangement, and readers/writers 4A-4D are arranged on both sides of the truck in the transfer direction. Article management information is read/written in communication with the RFID tags 2 attached to the articles. An article managing device 6 transmits read commands or write commands for the article management information to the readers/writers in sequence timingly for the transfer of the truck and recognizes the managed object articles in a lump from the article management information obtained by the readers/writers and written on the RFID tags attached to the articles on the truck. The article managing device analyzes the article management information and truck position information to seize the position of the managed object articles.
