PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically remove an unnecessary object such as electric wire in an image only by specifying a place, to generate and combine a background image of the unnecessary object without a sense of incongruity. SOLUTION: Fine narrow areas including the unnecessary object are generated without break, areas except the unnecessary object are efficiently searched and the narrow areas are replaced. To raise accuracy, the narrow areas are considered as free areas. In addition, a narrow area which does not surround all the unnecessary objects is created and continuous removal processing of a long unnecessary object is performed. To accelerate calculation speed, search matched to inclination of the unnecessary object is performed. To respond to a curved unnecessary object at high speed, high speed search is performed without omission by making the unnecessary object into black values, considering it as a mask area and replacing the unnecessary object as searching in vertical and horizontal directions.
