PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in an image processing apparatus in which optimal color processing parameters capable of approximating the colors of a picture photographed by a digital camera to desired colors (target data) can be found, and colors can be reproduced comparatively satisfactorily when the target data are inside the color space while a color jump occurs when the target data are outside the color space. SOLUTION: When a 3DLUT for color processing of a photographed picture is created, color data of the picture photographed by a photographing apparatus and target data representing target colors corresponding to the color data are input (S1-S4), color processing conditions for converting the color data into the target data are formed, a 3DULT is formed using the color processing conditions (S5, S6), it is determined whether or not outermost lattice points corresponding to a primary color and a secondary color being at the outermost of a space which the 3DLUT represents are inside a color space being a final target, outermost lattice points outside the color space are moved into the color space, and lattice points near the outermost lattice points are rearranged according to the amounts of movement of the outermost lattice points (S7, S8).
