PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide facility retrieval technique whose operation is easily performed with a high degree of flexibility. SOLUTION: A facility retrieving device comprises: a database concerning map information; a database including position information concerning different facilities; a display means for displaying a prescribed range of map, based on the map information; a pointing device for inputting a position in the displayed map; a voice input means for inputting by voice an instruction concerning facility retrieval; and means (25, 29, 30, 31) for performing retrieval concerning the facilities, based on the inputted position and instruction in response to the input of the position or instruction (steps 21-22, 24, 26, 27, 28).
