PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device capable of easily and surely sealing with a seal member and capable of maintaining bearing performance for a long time. SOLUTION: The bearing device 1 for a wheel is provided with an outer ring member 2, a hub 3 as an inner ring member, plurality of balls 5 arranged between the outer ring member 2 and the hub 3 freely to rotate in the circumferential direction, and the seal member 10 fixed to an axial end part of the outer ring member 2 to seal between the outer ring member 2 and the hub 3. The seal member 10 has seal lips 13a, 13b and 13c arranged close to the hub 3, and the seal lips 13a, 13b and 13c are brought in slide-contact with a metal ring 11 made of a corrosion resistant material and interposed between the hub 3 and the seal lips 13a, 13b and 13c. The metal ring 11 has at least a fitting part 11a to be fitted on the peripheral surface of the hub 3, and a clearance between the metal ring 11 and the hub 3 is sealed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
