PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-group zoom lens comprising negative/positive/negative lens groups realizing miniaturization and a small diameter and a high variable power ratio such as about 3.2 times by a small number of lenses, and a photographing device equipped with the zoom lens. SOLUTION: In the zoom lens which has a 1st lens group G1 having negative refractive power, a 2nd lens group G2 having positive refractive power and a 3rd lens group G3 having negative refractive power in order from an object side and where space between the 1st lens group G1 and the 2nd lens group G2 is changed and the 3rd lens group G3 moves to the object side in the case of variable power from a wide angle end state to a telephoto end state, the 1st lens group G1 at least has one aspherical surface, one negative lens component and one positive lens component, and the 2nd lens group G2 at least has two positive lens components, one negative lens component and an aperture diaphragm S deciding an F-number, and the 3rd lens group G3 comprises only one negative lens.
