PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planetary gear speed reducer capable of reducing a loss of rotational driving force, by restraining displacement in the thrust direction of a planetary gear and a carrier. SOLUTION: This helical planetary gear speed reducer 1 has a rotating sun gear 3 connected to a rotary shaft, an internal gear 6 arranged coaxially with the sun gear 3, the planetary gear 5 threadedly engaging with the sun gear 3 and the internal gear 6, and a first rotary body 7 for rotatably supporting the planetary gear 5 and rotatably coaxially supported with the sun gear 3; and transmits rotational operation of the sun gear 3 to the first rotary body 7 by reducing a speed via the planetary gear 5 by forming the sun gear 3, the planetary gear 5 and the internal gear 6 of a helical gear; and constitutes a connecting part P for overlapping the planetary gear 5 and the first rotary body 7 in the thrust direction; and has a pair of thrust bearings 12 and 13 for rotatably supporting both ends of the connecting part P in the thrust direction by abutting on both ends in the thrust direction of the connecting part P, and an energizing member 17 for energizing the thrust bearing 13 in the thrust direction.
