PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve sealing capability and prevent sealing surfaces from wearing away, by preventing sealing components from being corroded by chemical liquid and the sealing surfaces from being pressure welded by high pressure of the liquid to be sealed. SOLUTION: A mechanical sealing device comprises: a first sealing part 20, with a retractable bellows 20E having at its one end a mounting part 20F allowing installation on an end of a housing 60 and at the other end a first holding part 20D; a split type fixed seal ring 2 sealedly held in the first holding part 20D and having a sealing surface 2A at its end; a split type rotating seal ring 12 having an opposing sealing surface 12A allowed to closely contact the sealing surface 2A of the split type fixed seal ring 2 and having a second sticking surface; and a second sealing part 30 having a second holding part 30D for sealedly joining a split surface to the second sticking surface of the split type rotating seal ring 12 and having a fitting part 30F fitted on a shaft 50.
