PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved silica formulating ingredient which can shorten a vulcanizing time of a rubber composition and improves its vulcanized physical properties. SOLUTION: Wet silica is wet treated with a hydroxide and/or a carbonate of an alkaline earth metal to obtain treated silica. Alternatively, in the treated silica a treating amount of the hydroxide and/or the carbonate of the alkaline earth metal to the wet silica is 0.005-1.0 wt%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
