<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a new allene using a halide cluster as a catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: In this method of manufacturing the allene by bringing an alkyne into contact with the halide cluster, the above-mentioned halide cluster is a halide cluster obtained by heat-treating any of a cluster expressed by following general formulae (I), (II), and (III), or its hydrate. In general formula (I);[M<SP>1</SP><SB>6</SB>X<SP>1</SP><SB>14</SB>(H<SB>2</SB>O)<SB>4</SB>], M<SP>1</SP>shows a niobium atom or tantalum atom, X<SP>1</SP>shows a halogen atom. In general formulae (II); [M<SP>2</SP><SB>6</SB>X<SP>2</SP><SB>14</SB>][H<SB>3</SB>O]<SB>2</SB>and (III); [M<SP>2</SP><SB>6</SB>X<SP>2</SP><SB>12</SB>(H<SB>2</SB>O)<SB>2</SB>], M<SP>2</SP>shows a molybdenum atom or a tungsten atom, and X<SP>2</SP>shows a halogen atom. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
