<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and program for fade-in/fade-out processing, capable of giving temporal variations to sound volume, without completely decoding audio data even for a device which has a low arithmetic speed and small memory capacity, such as a mobile telephone set. <P>SOLUTION: The device has a bit stream decomposition part 10, which decomposes a bit stream of an audio frame based upon the MPEG audio standards into a header part and a real data part and outputs global_gain, a gain parameter variation part 12, which increases or decreases the global_gain within a specified time range, and a bit stream composition part 14, which puts together the decomposed header part and real data part including the varied global_gain.
