<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic character code recognition and display system, a method and a program using a portable telephone set for deciding the character code of a home page at access destination at the time of performing access to a home page provider server by the portable telephone set of a user, which can be connected to the Internet, for selecting a character code in the portable telephone set based on the decsion reuslt, and for displaying the contetns of the home page. <P>SOLUTION: In the home page provider server 40, information for deciding a character code is described. In a character code provider server 50, the data of the character code are always updated and registered.
