PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film for a polarizer supporting base, the film capable of improving the durability of a polarizing plate and having the moisture permeability controlled to be in an appropriate range, and to provide a polarizing plate. SOLUTION: The film for a supporting base of a polarizer comprises at least one kind of resin selected from a group consisting of a resin mixture of a maleimide-olefin copolymer and an acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer, acrylic resin and polylactic acid, and has 5 to 250 g/(m224h) water vapor permeability and 5 to 200μm thickness.
