PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital image printing system capable of picking up an image without requiring time and effort of a user. SOLUTION: A candidate region of the face of a person is extracted on the basis of a picked-up image to be inputted from an image pickup unit 2, the face region is decided on the basis of the feature included in the extracted candidate region, the range of the presence of the person contained in the picked-up image is detected on the basis of the decided face region, and at least any one of an image angle or zoom of the image pickup unit 2 is adjusted in response to the detected presence range.
