PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reading and recording apparatus the number of components of which can be reduced to thereby attain furthermore miniaturization and cost reduction. SOLUTION: The reading and recording apparatus including: a recording section 100 for using a recording medium 105 to making recording on a sheet member; and a read section 200 for using a read means 203 to read an original, shares at least part of a drive and drive transmission means such as a motor and a timing belt for moving the recording means 105 and part of a drive and drive transmission means such as a motor and a timing belt for moving the read means 203.
