PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying device capable of processing a jammed sheet with a good operationality in a short time, an image forming device, and an image reader. SOLUTION: A cover member constituting an upper face of a sheet conveying passage R is divided in two in the width direction orthogonal to the sheet conveying direction. The divided cover members 103, 111 are openable in the width direction respectively. When a sheet jam is generated in a skew correcting part 30 comprising the sheet conveying passage R and a skew correcting means for correcting a skew of a sheet passing through the sheet conveying passage R, the skew correcting part 30 is pulled out, then, the cover members 103, 111 are opened in the width direction so as to process the jammed sheet.
