PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive for a casting sand mold with which sand is not adversely affected, since, in the case of casting with a sand mold and adding a subliming material having solid-state at a room-temperature, such as 25°C, into the sand, this material stays in the casting defect as gas and as this is cooled, this material is solidified and the casting defect is sealed, but this material is not stored in the sand in the casting sand mold because it sublimes. SOLUTION: An additive for casting sand mold containing menthol, camphor and derivative thereof and the mixture of them, is added into the sand. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
