PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight oil filter device by securing the strength of an oil filter cap without increasing the wall thickness of the oil filter cap. SOLUTION: In an oil filter having a filter housing consisting of a housing and a cap member formed in a cylinder shape having a bottom, a cylindrical filter housed in the filter housing and a relief valve structure which is held between the bottom of the cap member and the filter and allows oil to flow through bypassing the filter by opening the valve structure according to the pressure difference between the inner and the outer peripheries of the filter, a plurality of ribs projecting towards the relief valve side are integrally formed at the bottom of the cap member so that the relief valve structure is held between the ribs and the filter.
