POLARIZER, POLARIZING PLATE, OPTICAL FILM AND IMAGE DISPLAY

摘要

A polarizer comprised of a film of such a structure that at least two types of microregions are dispersed in a matrix of translucent resin, wherein at least one type of the microregions is constituted of a liquid crystal birefringent material while at least one other type of the microregions is constituted of a polyvinyl alcohol resin material containing a dichroic absorber which would not lose dichroism within the range of liquid crystal temperature of the above liquid crystal birefringent material. This polarizer exhibits high polarization degree and high transmittance capable of suppressing unevenness of transmittance at black display, excelling in thermal stability.
