<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste treatment apparatus that is capable of reasonably removing moisture of waste, has excellent energy efficiency and conveniently permits the promotion of degradation and fermentation of an organic component. <P>SOLUTION: The waste treatment apparatus is provided with a rotary press 10 that compresses the recovered waste and has a mill function of pulverizing waste freed from waste moisture into fine waste, a plasma treatment apparatus 20 for applying plasma treatment capable of destroying cell walls for waste moisture obtained through the compression by means of the rotary press 10 and a fermentation apparatus 30 for obtaining fuel gas by fermenting the waste moisture subjected to plasma treatment.
