<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for a vehicle capable of suppressing rise of temperature of a motor and reducing burden of a cooling system. <P>SOLUTION: This controller for the vehicle used in a hybrid vehicle is provided with a differential gear device 4 in which a first gear element 5 is connected with an output shaft of an internal combustion engine 1, a second gear element 6 is connected with an output shaft of a second motor 11, and a third gear element 8 is connected with an output shaft of a first motor 9 and a driving wheel and a fixing means 12 for fixing rotation of the second motor. This controller is provided with a determining means S15 for determining whether the vehicle is in an operation region specified by vehicle speed and degree of opening of an accelerator or not and an operation means S16 for operating the fixing means 12 when result of determination of the determining means is affirmative. Since the motor stops in a driving condition in which appearance frequency is high, heat generation of the motor is prevented, and burden of the cooling system is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
